Dr. Grewal is a native of Tulsa who received his undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the Honors College at the University of Oklahoma in 2003. He graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2008, where he also served as president of the class of 2008 at the Tulsa campus and was recipient of the G Rainey Williams Scholar Award and Podalarian Award.
He proceeded to Washington University in St. Louis where he completed an internship in general surgery followed by a residency in Urologic Surgery. During his residency, he was named the Resident in Excellence for 3 consecutive years (2010-2013), given by vote of the faculty to the resident who performs at the highest overall level within the Department of Urologic Surgery. He was also awarded the Scholarship Award in 2013, given to the senior resident with the highest overall score on the urology in-service examination.
Dr. Grewal has extensive experience in minimally invasive and open surgical approaches for benign and malignant disease of the urinary tract. He practices general urology, with a special interest in kidney stone disease, prostate disorders, and robotic assisted procedures for cancers of the adrenal gland, kidney, bladder and prostate. Dr. Grewal has pioneered the use of multiparametric MRI in the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer in northeast Oklahoma. He has extensive experience in the use of MRI-ultrasound fusion for biopsy of the prostate, allowing fewer and more accurate prostate biopsies than the standard ultrasound guided procedures currently used.
Dr. Grewal is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and an active member of the American Urologic Association. He has authored numerous book chapters and articles in peer reviewed journals on topics within general urology, oncology, and urologic training.
